Warm-up: 10mins
- Encourage students to look at and respond to a selection of poster prints, discuss the role art can play in political activism. Focus attention on composition and formal elements: writing fonts and layout of the poster.
Introduction: 5mins
- In groups of 3-4 students, ask children to come up with a range of political slogans related to climate change.
Development: 20mins
- Invite children to share their environmental awareness slogans with the entire class.
- Ask students to select their favourite slogan and explore a variety of fonts in which to write it, using A4 sheets, rulers and pencils.
- Ask students to draft a poster of the slogan, exploring the layout and size of their text.
