He began to experiment and created a completely
new style of painting
called Cubism. Cubism is a style of art which shows all of the possible viewpoints
of a person or an object all at once.
Still Life with Flowers and Lemons, 1941, oil on canvas, 92 x 73cm
His father was a painter and Pablo learned to draw from an early age. He attended art school but grew restless as he wanted to create something new.
It is called
Cubism
because the items represented in the artworks look like they are made out of cubes and other geometrical shapes.
