was a German Dada artist

    click on ☻ →

    Dadaists

set out to turn our world upside down, to make it seem

    crazy and absurd.

    ☻

They meant for us to rethink the items that surround us so that we might

    think differently about our world.

    ☻

For her pieces, Hannah used images from magazines, newspapers and other printed media, that way creating a

    collage

which had been introduced by the Cubists.

    ☻

    She also used

    photomontage

which is the process of making an image by cutting, gluing, rearranging and overlapping two or more photographs into a

    new image.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 05_HannahHoch_Watched.jpg

    Watched, 1925, collage on paper, 25.7 x 17.1cm
