Frida Kahlo
was born in Mexico in 1907
Following a serious accident, Kahlo underwent thirty-five operations but as she was recovering she began to pain.
She painted
self-portraits
using a mirror.
She used bright colours and
depicted how she was feeling.
In some paintings, she looked sad and in other she smiled.
She also used
animals in her works,
such as monkeys, parrots, a hairless dog and a deer.
