Claude Monet

was born in Paris in 1840

    He loved to draw as a child. He began drawing caricatures of people that were quite good. He studied art and began to paint outdoor scenes.

    ☻

    He experimented in his paintings to capture the changing effects of

    colour with light.

    ☻

    He used a wide range of

    vibrant colours

    and painted quickly using short brushstrokes.

    ☻

    Monet was considered a great artist in France and founded the

    Impressionist movement

    which had a major influence on future artists.
